This is your sign to lose dependency

You love them with all of your heart. You adore the way they look at you, the way they speak to you. You dream of spending your entire life with them. But their texts seemed a little off yesterday evening. Of course you didn't talk to them about it, because what it's really not that big of a deal? Maybe you're just overthinking it, right? So instead, you cry yourself to sleep. For a few days in a row. It's so frequent now that you're on the verge of writing it down as part of your daily routine. That's it. This is where you realise you've lost yourself, trying not to lose someone else. You lost yourself because of a change in someone's texting tone. It hurts to imagine how you would be if it was something bigger.

It's not okay to change your inner connections based on how your connections with others are. The worst thing you could do is give someone the power to mess with your vibe, your energy. Don't be dependent. It's easier said than done, I know. But it's necessary.

Anytime you meet someone new, don't expect. Don't expect them to make your life vibrant. They might do it. They might not. All you should know is that you didn't need them for it. Starting relationships this way is the easiest step to lose dependency over anyone but yourself. What is hard, however, is losing reliance on an already-strong relationship. But it's not impossible. It's heartbreaking to see someone you thought was permanent, leave. No matter how many promises one makes, certain circumstances can force them to take certain actions that can end up hurting you, with sometimes, no fault of their own. But picture this situation, with less or no expectations. You'd be much less affected, and you're more likely to be left with more feelings of understanding than of hatred and negativity. It's much better for you. For your mental health.

So this is your sign to lose dependency and expectations. Invest in all relationships that are good for you, but don't let any downside in any of them break you. Only you should have that power, because sometimes, love is just an expression, and forever is just a word.
